We went over STAMP test results, reviewed project presentation expectations (particularly the live introduction) then had time to work on final projects presentations (la chanson francophone) and other missing work while I finished oral interviews.

We discussed the oral interview process and had time to practice.  We also did some dialogue presentations and learned about the final project.

Objectif:  Students will prepare for final oral and written assessments.

We reviewed some pronouns, had dialogue practice time then did most presentations.

Objectif:  Students will review pronouns and present dialogues

A Faire: 1)Prepare questions for a sondage.  Ask your classmates if they have/do the follwoing things :  Avoir des frères ?  Manger beaucoup de fruit ? (en)  Etudier souvent dans ta chambre ?  Jouer au tennis ? (y)  2) Prepare your answers to the quesions using pronuns.

Devoirs :  Prepare oral interview (future/conditional project)  be prepared to talk to me at length about 1 age in the future and answer the questions on the project handout.  Also review for final small test over all pronouns and future/conditional tenses.

We did some conditional practice, dialogue practice and shared our mini-projects in partners.

Objectif:  Students will prepare for oral assessments

We had time to practice dialogues and work on staging them.  We also went over some grammar fixes for the mini-project and learned how to express things we will have completed at certain points in the future (futur anterieur: helping verb in future tense + past participle…don’t forget agreements with être!!), like “I will have graduated from college in 10 years.”

Objectif:  Students will practice and revise work done in the future and conditional tenses.

A Faire:  Translate the following sentences using the « futur anterieur » :

1.      You will have finished college.

2.      She will have gone to France.

3.      I will have had 2 kids

4.      Sophie and Marie will have returned home

5.      We will have fallen in love.

Most of the class was absent due to AP testing, so we used the time as study hall/opportunity to get caught up on missing work.

Objectif:  Students will use their time effectively to complete necessary coursework.

We did some conditional practice, peer-edited dialogues, had some time for revision and learned about our new (summative) mini-project.

We reviewed the imparfait and learned to use “si” clauses to express what would happen if a scenario, that is not reality, were true.  (Si + imparfait, resultat + conditionnel)  We also worked on some summative dialogues.

We reviewed the uses of the pronouns Y and EN, went over the test and how to retake, did some speaking activities, corrected homework, and listened to our new song.

We practiced more “si” clauses and then learned to use “quand” clauses in conjunction with the future tense.  We also learned the pronoun “Y”.

We practiced some “if, then” scenarios using the future, discussed some predictions for the world in 25 years and played with our fortune tellers.

We reviewed the future tense and learned some other irregular stems.  We made some group predictions for what life will be like in 25 years that we’ll share next class and then made fortune tellers to practice telling each other’s futures.

We continued practicing multiple pronouns and learned about the future tense.

We talked about vacations, reviewed “savoir/connaître,” did a comprehension activity for the homework reading and then did a reading in small groups about differences in cultural customs.

Objectif:  Students will review the uses of savoir and connaître.

A Faire:  pg 231 #12 (prepare the explanations and then do the activity orally in partners)

TEC: Pg 234-235  Un Américain à Paris.  Read in small groups (à haute voix/tour de rôle).  For each scenario, choose what you think the cause of his problems is and write in cahier. Once you’ve discussed/shared your ideas for each scenario on the page…look together at the real reasons on the next page.  Write the cultural difference down in your notes!

We had our fête de crêpe!

We practices me/te/nous/vous in imperative construction, did some oral practice, watched presentations and then continued playing battleship to review our new and old irregular verbs.

We reviewed direct and indirect object pronouns, particularly me/te/nous/vous.  We continued presentations and then played battleship to review our new and old irregular verbs.

We continued practicing using indirect objects and focused specifically on distinguishing between verbs that take direct/indirect objects.  We also started “Publicité” presentations.

Objectif:  Students will practice using indirect object pronouns

A Faire:  paquet (COI) #2: add the person in parentheses to the sentence using an “à” when necessary.  Then rewrite each sentence using a COD or COI as appropriate.

We distinguished between and practiced “dire” and “raconter,” and practiced using the new vocab/verbs from pages 224-225 (we played 2 truths and a lie).  We also began learning to use indirect object pronouns.  At the end, prizes were awarded for the winning advertisements in each of the 5 categories.

We learned the present tense conjugations of dire/lire/écrire and practiced using “que” (that) after the verb dire.  We also played a review game in teams with the white boards.
