Bonnes Vacances!!!

French 5-6 Extra Credit Options:  You may choose up to 1!

*Watch a French movie (in French with English subtitles) and write a 1 page summary of the plot include a reflection on your experience watching it.  What did you understand?  Could you pick out words?  *This can NOT be an American movie dubbed in French!

*Make a French recipe and document the process (film/take pictures).  Create a poster or some other visual to turn in with a copy of the recipe.

*Keep a vacation journal in the past tense.  Minimum 20 sentences.

Remember to keep the French alive and active in your brain over break!  Listen to music, watch movies and practice!!!!

Today in class we discussed the new weather vocabulary (see packet pg 2), presented dialogues and finished up project presentations. I also briefly introduced the new project we will be working on after break.

A Faire :  Using new weather vocab, choose a situation from pg 3 #4 (packet) or create your own and compose a dialogue with a partner.  Each partner should have 5 lines each.  Try to go beyond “quel temps fait-il?”.

Devoirs:  Choose the famous person you will be researching and complete 1 page of research. Practice 6 times for 10 min each (for adults) and get signatures (you can do up to 4 extra for extra credit).

Today in class we listened to our song, went over some previous homework/reviewed PC/IMP, and did project presentations. 
 
A Faire :  Make a picture illustrating the uses of PC/IMP.  Include: 6 images, 6 phrases for PC and 6 for IMP--write directly on pic! (examples of each usage—see book/handouts), 4 expressions of time (see book/handout, hours/minutes work too!), label each example with the usage it represents (progressive action, specific action, description, state of mind, etc…)

Today we discussed the PC/IMP compared handout in detail, including expressions of time that indicate one or the other.  We also went over some recent assignments.  At the end of class, we reflected on our 1st quarter goals (on the back of the goal sheet—did you accomplish them? What could you do differently?  What worked?)  and set new 2nd quarter goals (at least 1 must be completely new!)  Make sure you are specific with your goals:  study for 15 min, 3x/wk   VS.   just study.

Devoirs: Be ready to present project Friday (pitch us your product), pg 321 #9 (write question and answer!)  Make sure you have attempted pg 333 #8 (Mondays HW) before the next class…we will be going over it.

Lundi 03/12

Today in class we talked a little about our weekends and then we did a survey of the class asking:  Où étais-tu hier après le dîner?  Qu’est-ce que tu faisais? (make 3 column table: nom/où/activité).  We turned in revised vacation journal drafts and projects today.
