Today we practiced questions from the question packet list #2 orally and started the first project of the year where students will teach a review lesson over a given topic.

A Faire :  Choose 10 new vocabulary words from school handout and use in complete sentences

Back to School Night



Bienvenue!              Français 5-6        
14/24 Students     Various Ability Levels

Goals:        -Provide a safe and comfortable environment where students can take risks
                          and make mistakes
                        -Help students learn to speak, comprehend, read, and write beyond a basic
                          level
                        -Keep lessons practical (based on real life scenarios) and relevant to
                         students’ lives (appeal to their interests and future goals)
                        -Emphasis on culture of French-speaking world (especially Africa!)
                        -Make learning French fun!

The Class:
                   -Primarily in French (except for school business, explicit grammar
                          instruction and some culture lessons)
                        -Activity/Project based  (learning through experience!)
                                    -Start more controlled and become open-ended
                                    -Upcoming projects:  coat of arms, famous person, fairy tales,
                                    Travel, music…
                                    -Music is a major part of the curriculum
Expectations:
                   -Students are focused, engaged and active participants
                        -Homework 20-30 min/night, Study 15 min every day!
                        -Organization:  binder/notebook
                                    -Build resource binder
                                    -Notebook (spiral/composition) for warm up, HW & in-class
                                    Work
Finals policy: 4 or fewer absences and final exam cannot hurt grade! 2 tardies=1 absence
            *incentive for regular attendance

Today in class we practiced orally some questions and vocab.  We did a short review of telling time.

Today we practiced questions from the question packet list #1 both orally and in writing.  We went over the verb chart we filled out as an A Faire (lundi), reviewed the alphabet/letter pronunciation, and did a listening activity with the News in Slow French.

A Faire :  Réponds à phrases complètes!
1.                  Quel est ton prénom?
2.                   Quel est ton nom de famille?
3.                   Quelle est ta date de naissance?
(write out numbers!) 
4.                   Quel est ton adresse? 
5.                   Quel est ton numéro de téléphone?
6.                   Quel sont tes loisirs/tes passe-temps?  (3 choses minimum!)
7.                   Quelles sont tes matières préférées?
8.                   Comment ça s’écrit ton nom ?
