We went over STAMP test results, reviewed project presentation expectations (particularly the live introduction) then had time to work on final projects presentations (la chanson francophone) and other missing work while I finished oral interviews.

We discussed the oral interview process and had time to practice.  We also did some dialogue presentations and learned about the final project.

We reviewed some pronouns, had dialogue practice time then did most presentations.

Objectif:  Students will review pronouns and present dialogues

We did some conditional practice, dialogue practice and shared our mini-projects in partners.

We had time to practice dialogues and work on staging them.  We also went over some grammar fixes for the mini-project and learned how to express things we will have completed at certain points in the future (futur anterieur: helping verb in future tense + past participle…don’t forget agreements with être!!), like “I will have graduated from college in 10 years.”

Objectif:  Students will practice and revise work done in the future and conditional tenses.

Most of the class was absent due to AP testing, so we used the time as study hall/opportunity to get caught up on missing work.

We reviewed the future tense and learned some other irregular stems.  We made some group predictions for what life will be like in 25 years that we’ll share next class and then made fortune tellers to practice telling each other’s futures.

We talked about vacations, reviewed “savoir/connaître,” did a comprehension activity for the homework reading and then did a reading in small groups about differences in cultural customs.

We continued practicing using indirect objects and focused specifically on distinguishing between verbs that take direct/indirect objects.  We also started “Publicité” presentations.

We distinguished between and practiced “dire” and “raconter,” and practiced using the new vocab/verbs from pages 224-225 (we played 2 truths and a lie).  We also began learning to use indirect object pronouns.  At the end, prizes were awarded for the winning advertisements in each of the 5 categories.

We looked at a few more advertisements up close and voted on the best ones (various categories).  We had some time to practice direct object pronouns and went over some homework.  We also had some project work time.

We reviewed then practiced using various conjugations of connaître and direct object pronouns.  We also learned that me/te/nous/vous can be used to replace direct objects.  We had some small group time to discuss the reading.

Objectif:  Students will practice using direct object pronouns to discuss people/places they know.

A Faire:  Write a sentence for each slide using connaître and a direct object pronoun.  Attention:  half way through, your answers change to “nous” and you’re answering for you and your partner!

We listened to our song, did some oral practice with direct object pronouns, learned the verb “connaitre” and worked in partners/small groups on a reading about Mardi Gras/Carnaval.

Objectif:  Students will learn to use the verb connaître and other related verbs.

TEC :  Read article out loud and in partners/groups of 3.  After each paragraph, stop to discuss meaning and take notes over any new/unfamiliar vocab and grammar.  *Use vocab on the back page too.  Keep in mind that you are trying to get the main ideas, not translate word for word!!  We will discuss and do comprehension activities in class on Wed.

Today we went over our song and we learned how to use direct object pronouns to mean “it” and “him/her”.  We had a little gallery of projects to see what each other had done and discussed Mardi Gras.

Objectif:  Students will learn about direct object pronouns.

A Faire:  pg 216 #3 (write the whole sentence containing the pronoun you’re adding.)

Devoirs :  pg 217 #4 (write your responses to the questions about whether you’re taking each item camping.  Use “prendre” and the appropriate direct object pronoun to replace the item in question)  Start thinking about/planning for your oral presentation of “les publicités”!

We reviewed body part and toiletry vocab through another circumlocution activity and some other in-class practice.  We also had a chance to complete a peer-edit and work on the project in class.

Objectif:  Students will be able to use circumlocution to describe familiar vocabulary.

We reviewed reflexives in the passé compose, did a survey of classmates using them and had some project work time.

Objectif:  Students will be able to communicate about past actions using reflexives.

We listened to our song, practiced describing toiletry items using circumlocution, reviewed reflexives in the passé compose, and started a new project.

Today we learned some new (and reviewed some old) vocabulary so we could play “Jacques a dit” (Simon says).  We did some reading comprehension practice in partners and had a chance to create our own “Jacques a dit” game.  We also finished the film.

We reviewed some sport vocabulary, went over the final exam, learned how to use the imperative with reflexive verbs and did some reading practice.

Objectif: Students will learn to give commands using reflexive verbs.

Mercredi 08/01

We did some oral practice with “faire de + sport”  (pg 257 #2) and reviewed “l’impératif” and did some practice with it.  We looked at and talked about the exams we took before break and how to do a retake.  Finally, we did some reading practice and vocabulary review while I completed interviews.

Objectif: Students will review and be able to give commands in French

A Faire:  pg 25 #14 1 & 2 only !! Pay attention to who you’re talking to and write a command for each bullet point !!

TEC:  1)  lisez pgs 270-271 à haute voix/tour de rôle en partenaires/partagez vos réponses  2) draw a person/body and label 20 body parts

Mercredi 06/01

Today, we reviewed body parts, practiced talking about sports and health, and practiced projects for interviews starting Friday.  We also learned some new vocabulary for toiletry articles (see bottom of graphic organizer for “Les verbes réfléchis”)

Objectif: Students will review health and body vocabulary

A Faire:  Partie 1-Repondez a phrases completes :  a) Qu’est-ce que tu fais pour rester en bonne santé? (donnez 3 choses !) b) Quels sports pratiques-tu ? (utilisez « faire » dans votre réponse!) c) Est-ce que tu aimes courir?  Partie 2-Write questions that you can ask your partner for each of the sentence completions on pg 257 #1 (The sentence completion is the answer to the question you’re writing!). You may use Est-ce que or inversion.  Partie 3: ask questions/answer with sentence completions from pg 257 #1 in partners.

TEC:  Make flashcards for minimum 15 new toiletry items  (use image and French word, NO ENGLISH!)

Devoirs :  read pg 270-271 and write a sentence explaining which sport is which (c’est…), finish flash cards, practice for interviews
